Apples non talking Iphone or how to keep silent

The Laugh of the week for me was Apple's I phone, which it seems ain't a phone at all 'cause you cant talk on it!
Steve Jobs, Apples darling, says, " we slipped up alright, not hugely but we got carried away with the state of the art software, functions and interfaces that we forgot it was supposed to be a phone above all else".
Now, this total lack of real life interaction meant that this wasn't discovered for more than a week! Communication- forget it. Even Jobs admitted it. "in our defence, you can check your mail,text, send pictures and movie files and many more things".
That's great of course but Jobs' best statement was, and I have a huge problem as to what he alludes to ; "Talking is so yesterdays technology". Are you hearing this? TALKING IS SO YESTERDAYS TECHNOLOGY! Where on Earth are we heading?
